JONAH WHALE Mobius
Biography - Jonah Whale by Avion Zek.
Jonah Whale joined his first band at age twelve as lead singer, soon taking up drums, guitar and keyboards as well
As a child, raised by his father on classic symphonic music, and then later being influenced by classic rock icons like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, his songwriting often hints of both.
He was soon writing and recording his own brand of progressive rock music in his own unmistakable style – meaningful lyrics and compelling melodies – soaring over driving rhythm tracks.
Jonah Whale is a true solo artist, writing and recording all his own lyrics and music, performing all vocals and playing all instruments on all his albums, in his home recording studio.
After living in New York and Los Angles Jonah Whale settled in Pennsylvania to write and record his newest release on his own label Adamsapple Records.
Every thing he writes begins with a moment of inspiration which could come from almost anywhere, including his own dreams. He loves to hear a great song for the first time and says “its like an adventure”. But adds, “just being different isn’t always enough”. “It has to move me emotionally.”
Jonah Whale formed a band to perform live at select venues on the east coast. Currently they are delivering high energy must see live shows in the PA, NY, NJ, MD areas.
He also likes the intimate nature of a solo acoustic performance and often plays solo doing unplugged versions of the full production progressive rock versions on his albums.
Jonah Whale music could be described as Pink Floyd powered by Led Zeppelin produced by David Bowie. He will send you rolling through dark valleys and soaring over mountain tops.
